FAQ

GENERAL

  • What is BEACH REACH NYC?

BEACH REACH NYC is a Christian outreach in the surfing neighborhood of Rockaway Beach, New York City.  Youth Mission Teams & Christian College Students will come from various parts of the country to befriend and minister to the millions of visitors who come to our area every summer.   Ministry will include fun beach activities, sports, and evangelistic music events.   The neighborhood contacts that we meet will be invited to a new church that will be started in the area. The BEACH REACH event will conclude with a Beach Baptism during the second ministry week of July.

  • When is BEACH REACH NYC?

In 2026, we will host 2 separate weeks of BEACH REACH.

The first week will be June 27 - July 3.  The second week

will be July 10-17.

  • Who can participate in BEACH REACH NYC?

BEACH REACH is mainly geared toward high school and

college age mission teams.   We may also be able to accommo-date individuals and family or adult groups.  All registrants are required to agree to sign our Beach Reach Code of Conduct.

COST

  • Is there a cost to participate in BEACH REACH NYC?

For Church Mission Teams, the cost is $399 per person (this is the Early Bird price), per week. This fee includes housing at the

UNO Beach House, breakfast and bag lunch each day, and a 7-Day subway pass. It also includes all costs related to the ministry and activities of the week.   This does not include dinner meals or your airplane tickets to get to New York.

For New York Metro Area Churches who come for one day only - there is a $25 per person charge to cover 2 meals (joining in with other groups and participants).  Locals need to fill out the registration form at least one week before the event in order to participate.

HOUSING & MEALS

  • Is housing available?

The UNO BEACH HOUSE is the cheapest and most convenient housing for teams.  It is a few minutes walk from the beach and right by the subway and bus lines.  There is limited housing space to stay at the UNO BEACH HOUSE, so it will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. This facility can only hold teams of 18 or less.  We expect 3 or 4 teams to sign up for each BEACH REACH week, but only one team per week can be housed at the UNO BEACH HOUSE  Larger groups of 18 or more are housed in another Christian dorm facility in North Queens.  The North Queens facility is less convenient and is more expensive (but still a very good deal for mission teams).  The housing facilities are conveniently located near the NYC subway, with public transportation access to JFK and LGA airports.  Rental cars/vans are not needed.

  • Are meals provided?

Basic breakfast and bag lunches are included in the price, but dinners are on your own.    There are plenty of restaurants near the UNO BEACH HOUSE and there are kitchens in the building that are available for evening meals if your team would like to cook their own meal. There are countless restaurants all along the beach.

Off the beach, no swim suits are allowed (without a coverup), with modest clothing at all times.
